An arrival, a gathering place, a point of recognition. We begin with your site and develop the material, proportions and delivery plan around it.
These are concept renderings, created to explore possibilities. They do not depict completed Koval installations. Final dimensions, structure and installation are developed for each commission.

A sculptural arrival, a courtyard fountain or a reflective piece that catches the last light. Scale and material developed around the architecture and the guest experience.

A landmark for the place people call home. Fountains, civic figures and abstract forms designed around sight lines, approaches and the public setting.

A founder, a mascot, a dedication. Bronze and stone that give a shared story a physical place on campus or in the landscape.

Stainless, bronze and stone for the space between buildings. A single strong form, considered from the sidewalk, the lobby and the upper floors.

A group of running horses gives a courtyard a sense of movement. The composition, basin and surrounding paths are considered together.
06 / Stone / Gathering
Carved stone and moving water create a center for a sheltered courtyard. The fountain is developed around the space, the approach and the places to pause.

Polished steel, translucent surfaces and light make a different presence after dusk. This is a study in form; structure, lighting and any movement are developed for the site.
08 / Memory / Place
A group of figures can hold a shared story. We work through the subjects, setting and details with the people the memorial is for.
09 / Recognition / Pride
A figure on a tall pedestal gives a town square its landmark. The scale is set from the street and the steps, so it reads from across the square.
10 / Bronze / Arrival
A rearing horse at the gate gives an arrival its sense of movement. The composition, base and approach are considered together.
